The Shire Of Montana

Actually, there’s a hobbit estate.

Based on the series written by JRR Tolkien, the Hobbit House incorporates all of the magic and fantasy on a 20 acre parcel of land in Montana, three hours by car from either Spokane, Washington or Missoula, Montana.

The property boasts an impressive replica of the land of the Hobbit’s Shire, including the houses of Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, the River Shire, a troll house and of course a “Comfort Cozy” underground hobbit hole.

  1. I have fond memories of hobbits from my childhood. Books were my escape from the abusive home I came from and Tolkien’s series played a huge role in my ongoing love affair with fantasy. I would love to visit here if I ever get to Montana.

  2. This is very cool. I know a few Tolkien fans that would love to visit this place. I have not read the series, but I do enjoy the the movies. Visiting this Hobbit House would be a real treat for any fan.

  3. I was not expecting the inside of the house to look like that. That was so cool the way they made everything look like you think it would from the stories. I would love to take my son there to see this house, he is such a huge fan.

  4. The Lord of The Rings is by far my favorite movie trilogy and book. This looks amazing and I wonder what it would feel like to be inside it. I would love to visit.
