Breitbart News, known for their woeful lack of fact-checking (and facts) jumped the gun yesterday and accidentally attacked the wrong Loretta Lynch in an article about President Obama‘s newest nominee for Attorney General.
The article, titled “Obama’s Attorney General Nominee Loretta Lynch Represented Clintons During Whitewater”, profiled an attorney named Loretta Lynch. The problem? It wasn’t the same Loretta Lynch that was nominated to the post.
According to the Grio:
In the now-removed article, Breitbart referred to Loretta Lynch as a former defense attorney for President Bill Clinton during the Whitewater scandal and as a Clinton campaign aide. But the Loretta Lynch who did those things was actually a California-based attorney who once served as a California Public Utilities Commissioner.
The Loretta Lynch who is the president’s nominee for attorney general is Brooklyn’s top federal prosecutor, served as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York and would be the first black woman appointed to the position if the Senate confirms her.
Surprisingly, the “journalists” at Breitbart didn’t instead simply append the article, explaining why both Loretta Lynch lawyers suck equally. (After all, they are both judges who are female, and respected by evil leftists.) Before deleting the article, the correction to the piece simply read: “Correction: The Loretta Lynch identified earlier as the Whitewater attorney was, in fact, a different attorney.”
Proving once again that Breitbart News “articles” are literally a waste of space.
