Coming on the heels of Trumps loss to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals over the travel ban, Pat Buchanan had a message for Trump, get rid of the courts by setting up a separate court system that will rule in his favor.
Meanwhile, Trump’s White House should use the arrogant and incompetent conduct of these federal judges to make the case not only for creating a new Supreme Court, but for Congress to start using Article III, Section 2, of the Constitution – to restrict the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court, and to reclaim its stolen powers.
A clipping of the court’s wings is long overdue.
Buchanan claims that the court system in place, which is a check and balance on executive power, is long past due on being replaced by a system which offers zero in the way of checks and balances on executive power. With idiots like this now in power, it is not out of the realm of possibilities for authoritarians like Trump and Bannon to attempt to subvert the checks and balances on their power by replacing the courts with their own court system that will allow them to rule by fiat. As Buchanan now claims, its time for the judicial system to be replaced with a system that favors their views and not the views of Judges and courts.
When politicians don black robes and seize powers they do not have, they should be called out for what they are – usurpers and petty tyrants. And if there is a cause upon which the populist right should unite, it is that elected representatives and executives make the laws and rule the nation. Not judges, and not justices.
This is treasonous talk by Buchanan, and he knows it. But since most of them are white supremacists, they now feel they have a mandate by the hayseeds who elected them. It is then not too farfetched to think that what is coming down the pike won’t end up being full scale civil war. Those now in power feel that they have this mandate that gives them unrivaled power to do anything they want. If they want to burn down the government, well, hell yes they say, why not. That is what the hayseeds that elected them want them to do. Those same hayseeds are sick of Washington dysfunction, which of course was set in motion by the very people who are now in power. For 8 years they have obstructed everything that could have moved the country forward. Now, because of their obstructionism, they have a willing and angry populace that wants something, anything, done on their behalf.
That a district judge would overrule the president of the United States on a matter of border security in wartime is absurd.
Only right wingers believe that we are in a state of war. This isn’t wartime, its a few small skirmishes here and there which are being financed by both sides of the coin. Usually the reasons are because the elites want to profit from these skirmishes by selling weapons to both sides so they can make a tidy profit. At the same time at home we are being sold a package of boilerplate that we must be afraid of this or that, because its wartime, and we are going to be attacked at any moment. Remember under Bush 2 all the yellow alerts splashed across the TV every hour? This creates fear uncertainty and doubt. And after awhile its easy to sell these packages of travel bans, crackdowns on liberties, and so forth, because everyone is living in fear of the unknown, and that fear is sold to us by the very elites who run the show.
The fact that Buchanan is offering an out to Trump to replace the judiciary with a separate court system that favors his unconstitutional executive orders is appalling. And because Trump tends to get most of his information and talking points from the likes of Alex Jones, Breitbart writers, and other likeminded lunatics, don’t be surprised if he doesn’t start thinking about replacing the courts with his own kangaroo court system.
