On a half-hour Blog Talk Radio show Friday night, Aug. 9, Ali A. Akbar, CEO of Pundit Syndication LLC, P.O. Box 4126, Lynchburg, Va., announced that William John Joseph Hoge III of Westminster, Md., is now a “partner” in the organization that is also the self-proclaimed owner of online publications such as “Viral Read” and “The Other McCain,” — a blog that was believed to be owned and operated by Robert Stacy McCain.
About 50 seconds into the program titled “Examining Bill Schmalfeldt’s Craziness,” Mr. Akbar announced, “This is copyright, um, a joint agreement between Pundit Sydication LLC and its partners. This broadcast may not be republished or broadcast without prior written consent. That goes for you, Mr. Schmalfeldt, you fat fuck.”
At 22:48 into the show, Mr. Akbar repeated the copyright disclaimer, saying, “Remember what we said at the beginning of this show. This is copyrighted by a joint agreement between Pundit Syndication LLC and its partners. One of its partners happens to be (WJJ) John Hoge.” He then warned Mr. Schmalfeldt against “taping” or “editing” the program, “Because then he will be dealing with both of us.”
The program was a cell phone-quality broadcast that consisted of Mr. Akbar, Mr. Hoge and Mr. McCain taking turns defaming Mr. Schmalfeldt. They were joined late in the program by Mr. Lee Stranahan of Dallas and Mr. Aaron Walker of Manassas, Va. Mr. Hoge currently has a peace order in place against Mr. Schmalfeldt and has filed eight charges against Mr. Schmalfeldt for violating the terms of that peace order. Two previous attempts at getting peace orders against Mr. Schmalfeldt by Mr. Hoge were denied by Carroll County, Md., judges. Mr. Hoge has also filed past charges against Mr. Schmalfeldt, including: Two separate charges of harassment as a course of conduct, a charge of harassment by electronic mail, a charge of illegal access to a computer (Mr. Hoge alleged that Mr. Schmalfeldt somehow got control of a computer in Brazil and used it to threaten him under someone else’s name), and a charge of failure to comply with a temporary peace order. All charges were dismissed by the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s office.
Aaron Walker had three charges and two peace order requests turned away by Howard County, Md. courts. Mr. Stranahan has had two charges refused by the Howard County State’s Attorney. In April, Mr. Hoge and Mr. Walker were responsible for organizing an “Everyone Blog/Contact the Howard County State’s Attorney Day,” partially for the reason of the States Attorney’s failure to prosecute Mr. Schmalfeldt.
By claiming Mr. Hoge as a “partner” of Pundit Syndication LLC as its CEO, Mr. Akbar seems to be making Mr. Akbar liable for any upcoming legal difficulties to be faced by the company. Mr. Hoge did not deny his partnership with Pundit Syndication, LLC.
In the interest of full disclosure, this reporter would ask Mr. Hoge about the extent of his “partnership” with Akbar’s organization which is rumored to soon be facing undisclosed legal difficulties, but this reporter is prohibited by a peace order, issued at Mr. Hoge’s request by a Carroll County, Md., Circuit Court judge, from contacting Mr. Hoge.
As a “partner” of Pundit Syndication, for which CEO Ali Akbar recently filed a DMCA counter-claim notice, signed under “penalty of perjury”, Mr. Hoge presumptively now owns a chunk of McCain’s blog and the Viral Read “news” website of which Mr. McCain is the managing editor as these properties are owned by Pundit Syndications. By publicly naming Mr. Hoge as a “partner” in the corporation, Mr. Akbar also seems to have exposed Mr. Hoge as a potential co-defendant in any upcoming legal action to be commenced against the corporation.
No word was given as to Mr. Hoge’s compensation as a “partner” in Pundit Syndication, or whether the “partnership” was defacto or honorary in nature. Also unreported, the percentage of the company Mr. Hoge now owns as a “partner”.
Attempts to ascertain that information from Mr. Akbar have proven unsuccessful.
