Marcus Faella only sentenced to 6 moths for domestic terror training

Marcus Faella, head of the neo-Nazi American Front, was sentenced to six months in jail yesterday for teaching firearms and hand-to-hand combat skills to his followers, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Faella, his wife Patricia, and 12 other members of the gang were preparing an army for an anticipated race war. They were arrested in early 2012 after an informant spent a year attending meetings.

Charges against many of the members were dropped without explanation and witnesses in the trial suddenly and mysteriously changed stories. However, secret footage of the gang members trained in shooting AK-47’s and other training locked up a guilty verdict. 41-year-old Faella was convicted earlier this year on two counts of teaching and providing paramilitary training at his home near Holopaw, Florida.

Circuit Judge Jon Morgan handed down the sentence following an afternoon of arguments and testimony. Faella will also serve 10 years of probation and will be prohibited from owning a firearm or associating with American Front members.

If he stays on his best behavior, Faella could be out in three months. He’ll be electronically monitored at home for two years, and faces 10 years of probation. He’s not supposed to own a gun or associate with his American Front members.

Seems like a very small price to pay for a homegrown domestic terror training camp.

Why do I think he probably didn’t really learn a lesson?

  1. The right wing in this country wets itself over the fictional idea of ISIS members crossing over the boarder from Mexico, while turning a blind eye to the very real threat of home grown terrorists.
