Steve Stockman’s Christmas Wish: A Gun Range For DC

Republican Rep. Steve Stockman is attempting to push through one last bill before he leaves Congress, according to HNGN.

Introduced in late November, the proposal reportedly aims to provide local gun enthusiasts with their own gun range within the city’s borders. Stockman’s concerned that it’s just too much of a pain for gun owners travel to Maryland and Virginia for a session of firing practice.

The bill has failed to attract any co-sponsors, so it’s probably not going to go anywhere.

There are only two weeks of the congressional session approaching before Stockman leaves office.

He also introduced a bill in the same session that would force D.C. to toss out their red-light cameras under the so-called “Safer American Streets Act.”

Democrat Eleanor Holmes Norton, the District’s lone congressional delegate, sums it up aptly — calling it “one last chance to bully the District of Columbia.”

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, good sir.
