Monday Moron: Lindsey Graham

Lindsey Graham is an Air Force Reserve JAG officer, the senior US Senator from South Carolina, and a moron. Here is a partial list of dumb things he has done or said:

Most recently, he called for federal authorities to waste time treating Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as an enemy combatant and fly him to Guantanamo, where the rate of successful prosecutions is actually lower than federal courts. We would like to see Graham debate Rand Paul on whether US citizens should be stripped of their Constitutional rights in this manner
Championing controversial and unconstitutional sections of the 2012 NDAA, Graham wanted terrorism suspects to be told to “shut up,” which is exactly the opposite of what experienced interrogators want detainees to do
Among grassroots conservatives, he has become one of the most loathed Republican officeholders in the country without managing to moderate his party one iota
At a hearing on gun regulation in the wake of Sandy Hook, Graham maintained that housewives need semiautomatic weapons with high-capacity magazines to defend their families against intruders carrying semiautomatic weapons with high-capacity magazines. Graham then voted against the Manchin-Toomey legislation, ensuring a steady supply of semiautomatic weapons with high-capacity magazines for criminals and moms alike
After years of backing climate legislation, Graham went into full-on denial, questioning climate science as “oversold” and “alarmist”
Described the demographic challenge faced by the GOP as a matter of not “generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term”
Led the charge to “investigate” conspiracy theories related to the terror attack on the US consulate in Benghazi by lying about survivors being “silenced”
Claimed that marriage equality requires a Constitutional amendment just like ending slavery, which required three amendments–and which was actually mentioned in the Constitution, whereas marriage is not
