If you eat out in restaurants in Texas you might run across armed to the teeth gun toting gangs of people who call themselves Open Carry Texas. Lately they have been seen flouting their rights to bear arms in any public space, including local restaurants like Chili’s and Sonic restaurants. Of course you are not supposed to be afraid when you see these armed gangs running into your local family friendly food establishment. You are in fact supposed to show your support for their cause. Most of the restaurant chains have asked these gun toting lunatics to refrain from or cease and desist from coming into their establishments toting AR-15’s and AK-47’s and various holstered weapons out of fear it will scare people eating with their children. You see, you can’t really tell if these guys are bikers or robbers or just there to wipe the floor with whoever is inside. That is the problem with these people, they feel no one should actually be afraid of people coming in by the dozen toting major assault rifles and whatever else they possess. They might even start going into Day Care establishments to prove their point. I mean why not scare the crap out the little children to get the point across that they won’t be denied their rights to open carry wherever they damn well please? The NRA recently said of these gun toting lunatic fringe crazies:

The NRA on Friday called the Texas group’s open carry displays in restaurants “weird,” “scary,” “counter-productive” and “downright foolishness” in a blog post on the NRA’s Legislative Action website.

They also said:

“Using guns merely to draw attention to yourself in public not only defies common sense, it shows a lack of consideration and manners,” the NRA’s lobbying arm wrote. “That’s not the Texas way. And that’s certainly not the NRA way.”

Not the NRA way and certainly not the Texas way or any other way for that matter.

Open Carry Texas then fired back at the NRA saying:

The NRA has lost its relevance and sided with #guncontrolextremists and their lapdog media,” the group’s Facebook post said. “No one in NRA leadership has ever been to an (Open Carry Texas) event, but feels competent to speak out against them.

What’s next, heading into the local malls during Christmas with body armor and toting around tank busters and 400 round clips? You can easily see where this will all lead. These Open Carry people want to intimidate, and if they can’t do that, they want the publicity of pushing the edge of the envelope until they get all the media going all in for them Cliven Bundy style. I guess the next step is a reality show for them. Maybe that is what they are really pushing for. I can’t think of any other reason they need to be out in force with all these weapons unless they want to show what can happen when they get pissed off. Until then be wary of groups of people carrying assault weapons at your local eatery or Day Care center.
