A Witchita Texas man was arrested by Sheriff’s deputies after paying his property tax bill in one dollar bills. The kick was that he folded the bills so tightly that it took the clerk at least 6 minutes to unfold each one. The property tax bill was for 600.00 dollars, so at the rate of 6 minutes to unfold each bill, the tax authority would have spent 60 some odd hours to open all the bills. This was of course unacceptable to the tax office. So they asked the man, Timothy Andrew Norris, 27, to vacate the building. He of course refused their request, so deputies were then called and they arrested him after a scuffle ensued while attempting to remove him from the tax building.

The tax clerk accused Norris of disrupting the operation of the tax office by paying in such a way. This is no different than how sovereign citizens act. They think that taxes are illegal, courts have no authority over them, and everything in the country should be free, or at least available for barter with their own coined money. When they pay their bills, they always like to be as disruptive as possible, like paying a huge tax bill in pennies.

Norris is free on a 500.00 dollar bail. I’m sure he didn’t pay the bail with pennies or folded up money.
