The same Dan Backer that Stranahan reached out to for funding for a documentary only to be given the financial cold shoulder.

In March 2014, Stranahan began a series of articles attacking Backer. To gather opposition research, he reached out to someone who had defeated Backer in court, Brett Kimberlin.

After getting help from Kimberlin, Strananan was quick to put the information to work.
Kimberlin told him where to look and Stranahan pretended he came up with the info on his own.
The Backer Attack did not find favor with Brandon Darby, the top dog at Breitbart Texas.
Stranahan found himself fired from Breitbart.com for his reportage on Backer.
Kimberlin expressed condolence and support.

Time passed. Stranahan was rehired by Breitbart and got a seat in the White House Press Corps.
Then, Breitbart yanked his creds, and Stranahan quit again, this time landing at the Russian propaganda outlet, Sputnik.
It didn’t take long for Stranahan to find himself in the negative spotlight. Again.
IS DOJ INVESTIGATING STRANAHAN?
With the investigative news hounds hot on his trail, Stranahan recalled the ancient adage, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend — until I don’t need him any more.”
He figured he could divert attention from his potentially traitorous work for a Russian Propaganda agency by utilizing the long-abused right wing pundit meme: BLAME KIMBERLIN.
