The National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START), a Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Center of Excellence headquartered at the University of Maryland, has surveyed American law enforcement agencies and found a tectonic shift in their perception of terrorist threats.

The Sovereign Citizen movement was the most highly ranked threat, with 86 percent of respondents agreeing or strongly agreeing that it was a serious terrorist threat. This is a significant increase in ranking from an earlier survey implemented in 2006-2007, which showed Islamist extremists to be law enforcement’s top concern at the time. In that survey, approximately 67 percent agreed or strongly agreed that Islamist extremists were a serious terrorist threat.

The report itself, available here as a PDF file, says that “concern about whether most groups were a serious terrorist threat actually declined for most groups (e.g., the KKK; Christian Identity; Neo-Nazis; Racist Skinheads; Extremist Environmentalists; Extreme Animal Rights Extremists).” In fact, these movements have not appreciably grown in recent years, whereas the sovereign citizen ‘movement’ now boasts hundreds of thousands of adherents.

  1. Settle down people……yes, it’s called the majority DHSS as you will find out. 2014 and 16 will usher back in the socio-eco-political sanity we’ve been sorely lacking the last 6-8 years. IMO every directive from those in authority under this administration will undergo a forensic investigation on why, how, what and where and will at some point stand tall in our courts to defend this report, pursuant to the laws of the United States of America.
